DIY Your Way Through Coronavirus Lock Down

With the UK on lock down, home owners are finding themselves going a bit crazy within their own 4 walls. Why not try doing some DIY round the house to keep your hands and mind busy during this time? There are lots of little things that you can do round the house to improve the look and feel of your home quickly and relatively cheaply.

In this blog post we look at some of the ways you can transform your home and DIY your way through coronavirus lock down.

The Bathroom

The bathroom should be a place of peace and quiet. A place you want to relax and unwind after a long day; or a place to ‘jump start’ your day with a quick shower. However, for many people the bathroom is a small, dark and dingy room. So, how can you make the room more modern and ‘nice’ without breaking the bank?

Vinyl bathroom flooring costs around £40 a roll, meanwhile stick on floor tiles are a cost-effective option too. We would recommend that you use some strong double sided tape around the edges of the room. A sharp Stanley knife is highly recommended too, for those clean cuts. YouTube has loads of great videos, or call our team for advice.

The Kitchen

The kitchen is often the one room in the house that has the most wear and tear. While many of us dream of a kitchen refurb, this really isn’t an option at the moment. Why not make some small upgrades to your kitchen for now. Then, when lock down is over call the experts in to complete your kitchen refit for you?

For example Wilkinsons have some great colours of cupboard paint. It starts at around £8 for a tin and is easy to apply to all your cupboard fronts. Alternatively, B&Q have some really nice patterns and colours for their stick back plastic which gives your cupboards a quick, fresh look. Why not grab some paint spray to transform the white goods in your kitchen?

Internal Brickwork

If you have brickwork inside your home, then why not modernise and update it? Some exterior masonry paint in a nice shade of Abbey Grey will give you a really nice modern look and feel to your exposed brickwork on an internal wall or round your fireplace.

These are just some relatively low cost ways that you can DIY your way through coronavirus lock down. Remember, if you have any larger jobs then call our team. We can book you in for when lock down is over.

Please share your photos with us too! We would love to see your before and after photos!
